Quick answer

  • As listed on 7 November 2026, Airalo's United States unlimited packages started at US$11.50 for 3 days and Holafly's at US$11.90 for 3 days.
  • Airalo names T-Mobile as its primary network and also lists Verizon. Holafly names AT&T / T-Mobile.
  • For a USA and Canada trip, Holafly's North America eSIM lists Canada, Mexico and USA. Airalo's North America page doesn't name its 3 countries in the text we checked.

A USA eSIM is a data package you install on your phone, so you have mobile data in the States without buying a local SIM card. As listed on 7 November 2026, Airalo's United States unlimited packages started at US$11.50 for 3 days and Holafly's at US$11.90 for 3 days. Airalo names T-Mobile as its primary network, while Holafly names AT&T / T-Mobile.

Maybe you're visiting a tita in California for three weeks. Maybe it's a five-day work trip with a side visit to Toronto. Either way, start with two things: the dates you actually need data, and whether anyone else will hang off your hotspot.

Your phone has to support eSIM and be unlocked, so check the seller's compatibility page before you pay. Everything below comes from the sellers' own pages. None of it is a connection test along your route.

USA eSIM prices as listed on 7 November 2026

Airalo's United States page opened on a list of unlimited data packages. As listed on 7 November 2026, those were US$11.50 for 3 days, US$18.50 for 5 days, US$25.00 for 7 days, US$34.00 for 10 days, US$46.00 for 15 days and US$68.00 for 30 days.

Holafly's USA page had its own price list in US dollars. On the same date it showed US$11.90 for 3 days, US$20.50 for 5 days, US$27.50 for 7 days, US$36.50 for 10 days, US$50.50 for 15 days and US$73.90 for 30 days. Holafly says you can pick anything from 1 to 90 days.

All of these are in US dollars. We haven't converted them to pesos, and we haven't checked card or currency fees. The amount you see at checkout is the one that counts.

Airalo's US page also has a Fixed data filter and a Data / Calls / Texts filter. We didn't capture the prices behind either one. So don't read the unlimited prices above as the price of a smaller fixed package, or of a package with calls.

Which US networks do the sellers name?

Airalo's United States page names T-Mobile as the primary network, with "+1 other" next to it. The page's network list names T-Mobile and Verizon. Holafly's USA page lists AT&T / T-Mobile in its networks field.

That's what each seller says. It doesn't tell you which line will work better at your relative's house in a particular suburb, and we haven't tested either. If one stop really matters, look up the seller's current coverage details for it before you buy.

Holafly says its USA plan is valid in all 50 states. It also warns that coverage may be weaker or less stable in rural or remote areas, like desert or mountain regions and roads far from towns. Its example is certain points in the Grand Canyon. Planning a long drive between national parks? Keep that warning in mind, and download your maps before you leave the hotel wifi.

Data only or with a US number?

Holafly describes its USA eSIM as data-only. There's no local number for traditional calls or SMS. You can still call and message through internet apps such as WhatsApp, and Holafly says you keep your WhatsApp number.

Airalo's US page has that Data / Calls / Texts filter, but we didn't check those packages. The filter existing doesn't mean the unlimited packages priced above include a number. If you need a US number, for example for a booking that texts you, read the details of the exact package.

You'll probably want your Globe or Smart number reachable for bank OTPs. Holafly says you can keep your physical SIM for calls and SMS while its eSIM handles data. It also warns that your own provider may charge roaming for calls and SMS if that SIM stays on. Ask your telco how its roaming works before the trip. Our roaming vs eSIM guide walks through that choice.

Hotspot sharing and fair use

Holafly allows hotspot sharing of up to 1 GB per day. A 7-day plan works out to 7 GB of shareable data in total, by Holafly's own example. That's separate from the unlimited data on your phone.

Kung may makikihotspot sa inyo, pag-usapan muna kung paano ninyo hahatiin ang data.

Holafly also has a Fair Usage Policy. It says operators may slow your speed for no more than one day, then it resets the next day. So "unlimited" doesn't promise full speed all the time.

For Airalo's US packages, we didn't capture a hotspot allowance or fair use rule tied to a specific package. Check the conditions of the one you pick before you count on sharing. And don't assume Holafly's 1 GB a day applies to Airalo.

One more Holafly feature: Always On, which it describes as 1 GB of monthly backup data. It becomes available once the eSIM is installed and works in 150+ countries, according to Holafly. The allowance refreshes every 30 days and doesn't pile up. You have to keep the eSIM installed to keep it.

USA and Canada on one trip

Some trips cross a border. Maybe it's family in Vancouver and Seattle, or a bus from New York to Toronto. You can buy one eSIM per country, or one regional eSIM.

Separate Airalo country packages

Airalo's Canada page names Bell as its primary network. As listed on 7 November 2026, its Canada unlimited packages were US$17.61 for 3 days, US$23.24 for 5 days, US$28.87 for 7 days, US$33.80 for 10 days, US$44.01 for 15 days and US$80.99 for 30 days.

Two country packages mean two sets of rules to read. Match each one to the days you'll actually spend in that country.

Regional packages

Airalo's North America page says "3 Countries and Networks". The text we captured doesn't name the three countries, so confirm that both the US and Canada are covered before you buy it for this trip. As listed on 7 November 2026, its unlimited packages were US$18.50 for 3 days, US$29.00 for 5 days, US$37.00 for 7 days, US$48.00 for 10 days, US$60.50 for 15 days and US$97.50 for 30 days.

Holafly's North America page names its three destinations: Canada, Mexico and USA. It says one eSIM covers them without switching. On 7 November 2026 it listed US$18.50 for 3 days, US$29.90 for 5 days, US$40.90 for 7 days, US$51.50 for 10 days, US$62.90 for 15 days and US$99.90 for 30 days.

The regional Holafly plan is also data-only, with the same 1 GB a day hotspot limit. Its page warns about weaker coverage in mountain or desert regions, national parks and roads far from cities. Parts of the Rocky Mountains are its example.

A split-trip price example

Here's a simple example with prices as listed on 7 November 2026. Five days of Airalo US data at US$18.50 plus five days of Airalo Canada data at US$23.24 comes to US$41.74. Airalo's 10-day North America unlimited package was US$48.00, assuming it covers both countries.

That's just a sum of listed prices. Each split still has to fit the package's own validity rules, and the two setups won't have identical conditions. Travelling as a family or barkada? Read our eSIM vs pocket wifi guide before deciding whose phone everyone leans on.

Installing before you fly

Airalo says you can install any time you have a stable internet connection, even in advance while you're outside the coverage area. Once you land, the eSIM has to be turned on and selected for data (or for calls and texts, if the package includes them).

Holafly sends a QR code and manual instructions by email right after purchase. It advises installing before departure, with internet access, then turning on the Holafly line and data roaming when you arrive. Holafly says turning on data roaming for its line doesn't add charges when it's set up correctly. That statement is about the Holafly line only, not your Philippine SIM.

Apple says to connect to Wi-Fi or a hotspot for eSIM setup. For an iPhone that's already set up, Apple's QR code steps go like this:

  1. Open the Camera app and scan the QR code, then tap the Cellular Plan Detected notification.
  2. Tap Continue at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap Add Cellular Plan.
  4. If you're asked for a confirmation code, enter the number your carrier gave you.

On iOS 17.4 or later, Apple says you can also tap and hold a QR code in Mail or a browser, then tap Add eSIM. If your seller sends different steps, follow theirs. Our how to use an eSIM guide covers the general setup.

Do the install at home or at the airport lounge, not at the immigration queue in LAX. You'll want stable wifi and a few calm minutes.

When validity starts and what not to delete

Holafly says validity starts when the eSIM connects to a supported network. Its example: a 1-day plan activated at 10 AM ends at 10 AM the next day. If your flight lands late at night, count your days from that first connection.

Holafly also says its eSIM can't be transferred or reinstalled once installed. Delete it and you need a new one. So don't remove it while troubleshooting, and think twice before switching phones mid-trip.

Airalo works a little differently on extensions. It says that in many cases you can top up the same eSIM instead of buying a new one. It also describes renewals, which can automatically renew a package when the eSIM has 10% data left. You switch renewals on or off in the eSIM's details. Neither of those tells us when the US packages above start their validity, so check that on the package before paying.

May US number ba ang USA eSIM?

Which network does a USA eSIM use?

Can one eSIM cover the USA and Canada?

Holafly's North America eSIM lists Canada, Mexico and USA. Airalo's North America page says "3 Countries and Networks" but the text we checked doesn't name them, so confirm the US and Canada are included before buying.
