Quick answer

  • On 3 November 2026, Airalo listed Australia unlimited plans from US$11.50 for 3 days and Holafly from US$11.90 for 3 days, as each listed it.
  • Both sellers name Optus as the network. Holafly warns coverage may be weaker or unavailable in remote areas and along some Outback routes.
  • Keep your Globe or Smart SIM for OTPs and select the travel eSIM for data.

An Australia eSIM is a digital SIM you install on your phone for mobile data during your trip from the Philippines. We checked Airalo and Holafly. Their listed Australia unlimited plans ranged from $11.50 USD to $76.50 USD across the durations below, as listed on 3 November 2026.

Start with your phone, your travel dates and the places you plan to visit. An unlimited label does not answer every question about speed, sharing or coverage. Those details matter for work, family sharing and remote trips.

TravelESIM.ph is an independent guide run by Dominet BV. We're not a mobile network, telco or eSIM seller, and we don't sell or activate SIMs. Some links on this site may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them. eSIM brands and telcos we mention may not pay us anything. That never changes what we write. Read our affiliate disclosure. Prices and plans change often, so check the seller's page before you buy.

Before you buy: check your phone

Your phone must support eSIM and be unlocked. Check your exact device on the seller's compatibility page before paying.

Also decide what you need the line for. Holafly describes its Australia eSIM as data-only, without a local number for traditional calls or SMS. Internet calling and messaging apps can use its data. Do not assume a data package will replace the Philippine number you use for OTPs.

Australia unlimited prices as listed on 3 November 2026

All prices here are in US dollars. These are the unlimited packages shown in the captured Australia listings, with matching durations side by side.

DurationAiralo Australia unlimitedHolafly Australia unlimited
3 days$11.50 USD$11.90 USD
5 days$18.50 USD$20.50 USD
7 days$26.50 USD$27.50 USD
10 days$32.00 USD$37.50 USD
15 days$45.00 USD$51.50 USD
30 days$66.50 USD$76.50 USD

Airalo's Australia page title says plans start "from $4.00 USD". However, the default list captured for this guide showed unlimited packages. A fixed data filter was available, but its package prices were not captured. Check the page for those details. The title alone does not establish what data allowance or validity that starting price buys.

Match the duration to the days you need data, then read the package's activation and validity rules. The table compares listed prices, without ranking the service behind them.

Which networks do the sellers name?

Airalo's Australia page names Optus as the primary network. Holafly's Australia page also names Optus. No seller we checked named Telstra. These listings do not give us a basis for claims about Telstra coverage.

Holafly says its Australia eSIM can connect to 5G where available, plus 4G and LTE. It describes connections at popular destinations as subject to local network availability. That is the seller's description, rather than a measured speed result from us.

For a road trip, pay attention to the coverage warning. Holafly says service may be weaker or unavailable in rural and remote areas, including desert regions, national parks and roads far from major towns and cities. It specifically mentions certain points along Outback routes.

An unlimited package does not remove that warning. If your itinerary includes remote stops, check the route rather than relying on the country name on the package.

Unlimited data, hotspot and backup data

Holafly describes its Australia plans as unlimited, but says network operators may temporarily reduce speeds under a fair usage policy. Its page says that restriction lasts no more than one day and resets the following day. It does not give a specific daily full-speed allowance in the material checked.

The captured Airalo Australia listing does not provide a daily speed threshold. Do not borrow a limit from another destination's plan. Read the conditions attached to the Australia package you choose.

Sharing with family or barkada

Holafly says hotspot sharing is limited to 1 GB per day. Its example is a 7-day plan with up to 7 GB of shareable data. Unlimited data on your phone therefore does not mean unlimited sharing with another device.

Kung may kasamang makikihotspot, pag-usapan muna kung paano ninyo gagamitin ang data. The eSIM vs pocket wifi guide covers the group travel decision.

What Holafly means by Always On

Holafly describes Always On as 1GB of monthly backup data included with its eSIM. It says the benefit becomes available after installation and works in 150+ countries. The allowance refreshes every 30 days and does not accumulate.

Holafly says you need to keep the eSIM installed to retain this benefit. Treat it as the backup allowance the seller describes, separate from your Australia unlimited plan and its hotspot allowance.

Australia plus New Zealand: local or regional?

If your trip includes New Zealand, compare separate local packages with Airalo's Oceania regional option. Airalo's New Zealand page names Spark as its primary network. Its Oceania page describes coverage across 8 countries. The captured material does not list those countries, so confirm that your destinations are included before choosing the regional package.

These are the unlimited prices as listed on 3 November 2026. The Australia prices for a local package are in the earlier table.

DurationAiralo New Zealand unlimitedAiralo Oceania unlimited
3 days$11.50 USD$11.50 USD
5 days$18.50 USD$19.50 USD
7 days$27.00 USD$27.00 USD
10 days$34.50 USD$35.00 USD
15 days$48.00 USD$49.00 USD
30 days$71.00 USD$73.50 USD

For example, a 5-day Australia local package at $18.50 USD plus a 5-day New Zealand local package at $18.50 USD totals $37.00 USD. The listed 10-day Oceania unlimited package is $35.00 USD.

For another split, a 7-day Australia local package at $26.50 USD plus a 7-day New Zealand local package at $27.00 USD totals $53.50 USD. The listed 15-day Oceania unlimited package is $49.00 USD.

Those are simple package totals for example itineraries. Your dates still need to fit the validity rules. Separate local eSIMs let you choose a package for each country. A regional eSIM puts the trip under one package, provided its covered destinations and validity fit. Check its country and network details rather than assuming it uses the same networks as the local listings.

Holafly delivery and activation

Holafly says it delivers your Australia eSIM by email immediately after purchase, with a QR code and manual installation instructions. It says you can install before departure and activate on arrival. Internet access is needed for installation.

The seller offers plans from 1 to 90 days. Holafly also says tourists do not need a local address, ID registration or a shop visit for this product. That describes Holafly's purchase process, rather than a general rule for every Australian SIM.

According to Holafly, the plan starts when the eSIM connects to a supported network. Follow its instructions for turning on the eSIM and data roaming when you arrive.

Holafly says refund requests may cover a cancelled trip, an incompatible or locked device, or connection problems, subject to its policy. Its page mentions up to 6 months to request a refund. Read the conditions before paying rather than assuming every request qualifies.

Set up before departure, connect on arrival

Leave time at home to read the instructions and install with a stable internet connection. Airalo says you can install in advance, including while outside the coverage area. Check your chosen package's validity rules before starting.

  1. Confirm compatibility and that your phone is unlocked.
  2. Read the installation, activation and validity instructions for your package.
  3. Install while you have internet access and give the line a clear name, such as "Australia".
  4. On arrival, enable the travel eSIM and select it for mobile data.
  5. Follow the seller's data roaming instructions for that line.

Holafly says its installed eSIM cannot be transferred or reinstalled. Avoid deleting it as a troubleshooting step. Ask support before making a change you cannot undo.

Keep your Philippine SIM for OTPs

On a phone that supports using both lines, keep your Philippine SIM available for OTPs and select the travel eSIM for data. Review each line's settings so you know which one is providing mobile data.

Keeping your Philippine line active does not establish that calls, SMS or roaming will be free. Confirm your own carrier's terms. Our roaming vs eSIM guide explains the choice without assuming the same rules apply to every Philippine plan.

If you are considering Airalo

Airalo's Australia listing includes unlimited packages and a fixed data filter. For an Australia plus New Zealand trip, its local and Oceania listings give you different package structures to compare. The Airalo review provides further context on the seller.

If Airalo fits your trip, you can check Airalo's Australia plans. Read the network, validity and refund rules on the package before you pay.
